Welcome to Pomegranate Linen

Pomegranate Linen was created in 2017 in Karachi, Pakistan, when a couple - Yousuf, an engineer, and Zairah, an artist - decided to bring their skills to the drawing board to produce home textiles celebrating the best of Pakistani craft and quality on par with the finest linens available internationally. 

We’ve grown quickly since, with a range of table linen, an accessories line, upholstery, bed linens, and home fragrances all featuring our signature hand painted prints.Throughout this journey, we’ve kept one thing in mind: our products should enrich the simplest of experiences, whether that’s enjoying a cup of tea served beautifully with our table linen, spending a lazy weekend in bed enveloped in buttery soft sheets, or travelling the world in search of new adventures armed with a trusty leather carry-all.

   

Our commitment

Yousuf has been a part of the Pakistani textile industry for the last 20 years, working on everything from apparel to upholstery and drapery for local and international luxury brands and retailers. With Pomegranate Linen, we wanted to use his years of expertise to make sure that PL's products weren't just beautiful, but responsibly produced too. Two core values lie at the heart of Pomegranate Linen: a commitment to producing one-of-a-kind pieces that celebrate craftsmanship and a desire to meet the highest standards of sustainability when doing so.

We do not buy off-the-shelf fabric and are very particular about the yarn count and weaving of any fabric we use, the conditions that our employees work in, the fact that we use cotton produced under the Better Cotton Initiative, which exists to make global cotton production better for the people who produce it and better for the environment it grows in. We are one of the few Pakistani companies to follow the practices of global leaders in the fashion and home textile industries, including Burberry, Ikea, and Marks & Spencer. In Pakistan, the world’s fourth largest cotton producing country, it is important, now more than ever, to ensure that the cotton we use at Pomegranate Linen has been produced without the over-use of pesticides and artificial fertilisers, and the depletion of local water sources.

And that’s not all: we make sure that in the printing and finishing of each Pomegranate Linen item, we adhere to Oeko Tex standards, minimizing the use of
harmful chemicals, water wastage and pollution.
