Poppy of Palestine Table Runner

This collection started taking shape after October 2023. It features the wild flowers of Palestine that bloom on rocky hillsides in the dry Mediterranean heat, often in harsh conditions. It is a tribute to the resilience and beauty of a place and people that cannot be erased or forgotten.

The poppy- its red, black and green - represent a nation whose unwavering faith, courage, determination and kindness has left us all in awe. The design features an undulating black wave. I painted this as I watched an aerial video of the river Jordan as it flowed south from Lebanon to the Dead Sea. The curves mimic the rhythm of a heartbeat. 

Part of the proceeds from this collection will be donated to relief/aid efforts.
